A single panel creates a simple outline. A folding screen adds adjustable side panels. An operable-door screen gives access through the front without moving the whole screen. Compare the available designs and follow each model’s placement instructions.
Find the right proportions
Use the selected product’s guide for the required dimensions. A finished screen size and a fireplace opening measurement are different, and folding screens also depend on how their panels are positioned.
Mesh or glass?
Compare the panel materials offered for the model you like. Use the screen only in the setting described by its manufacturer; a decorative screen is not a childproof barrier or a substitute for a fireplace’s required safety barrier.

Choose a screen that covers the opening when positioned as intended. For a custom screen, enter the finished screen dimensions requested on the product page. Folding models may ask for the center-panel width separately.
Should I choose a flat or folding screen?
A single panel gives a simple outline; a folding design wraps its side panels toward the opening. Check the dimensions and available hearth space for the model you prefer.
What are operable doors for?
They give you access to the fire without moving the entire screen.
Can I choose the finish?

Can I order an arch screen?

Is a fireplace screen childproof?

How should I position the screen?
