Two ways to get the size rightGet the size right

Measure the Width

Measure the width at the face of the opening at three points: top, middle, and bottom. Use the smallest number. Measure brick-to-brick, not deeper inside the firebox.

Keep your original measurements: record what the tape shows. Do not subtract a fitting allowance or round down before our team reviews the opening.

Measure the Height

Measure from the bottom edge to the top of the opening at left, center, and right. Use the smallest number.

Check the lintel bar: if a steel bar is visible at the top of the opening, include a clear photo and its position when you send your measurements. Our team can confirm the measuring point for your door and fireplace.

What is a lintel bar?

Where the bottom is: the hearth is the floor or slab in front of the opening. The firebox floor is the floor inside the fireplace, behind the opening. Measure from the hearth — unless the firebox floor sits higher than the hearth by more than this door’s frame width. Then measure from the firebox floor.

Check if Square

Measure both diagonals, from corner to corner, and record both numbers. If they differ, include those measurements so our team can review the fit.

A custom-made Stoll Industries single-panel fireplace screen with a smooth rectangular frame, top bar handles and your choice of finish. Choose the finished outside dimensions, mesh, feet and optional decorative pane for your hearth.

Standard finishes are included; premium finishes add $205. Standard curved or flat feet are included. Perforated or wire mesh is included; stainless perforated mesh adds $275. Mission Pane, Window Pane or Arch Window Pane adds $135.

Manufactured as Stoll Traditional Rectangle. Production takes approximately 3–4 weeks; shipping time is additional. Enter finished screen dimensions, not just the fireplace opening measurements. Large wire mesh screens with both dimensions over 40 inches include horizontal support bars.
