The Horizon Non-Combustible Concrete Mantel Shelf is a hand-cast Burncrete™ mantel with a 5½" × 4" profile, available in 60" and 84" standard lengths plus custom sizing on request. Designed for modern fireplaces where a heavier mantel would overwhelm the architecture. Finished in Sahara Sand — a soft sandy beige with cream highlights — works in coastal, southwestern, and modern-organic interiors.

How far does a mantel need to be from the firebox?
Use the clearance requirements in both the fireplace installation manual and the mantel installation instructions, together with local code. A non-combustible mantel does not automatically permit zero clearance. Confirm the mantel position, wall construction and fastening method before installation.
What's the difference between combustible and non-combustible mantels?
Wood and wood-composite mantels are combustible. Non-combustible mantels use a material rated for that purpose, but the required separation from heat still depends on the fireplace and mantel instructions.
This Lexington Hearth mantel is made from non-combustible Burncrete with a hand-applied finish that recreates the appearance of wood.
How do I install a floating mantel?
The hollow mantel fits over its mounting bracket. Follow the Lexington Hearth mounting instructions for the bracket, fasteners and wall support. The standard instructions cover wood framing; ask a qualified installer to specify the attachment for other wall types.
Will the mantel arrive ready to install?
The mantel arrives finished with a mounting bracket, the specified screws and a touch-up kit. Check the mounting instructions for any additional fasteners needed for your wall.
