Overview

Gather around a generous round fire bowl with a smooth, sculpted profile. The Sanctuary 2 brings warmth to a conversation area while its curved shape works naturally between lounge chairs.

What comes with your order

This ExceptionalFire assembled set combines one complete factory Firegear fire feature in your selected finish, fuel and ignition with 3 factory 10 lb bags of Firegear lava rock (30 lb supplied). The displayed price includes both. The factory fire feature and media retain their own manufacturer part numbers and may arrive in separate cartons.

Make it yours

Choose Arctic, Chocolate, Raven or Slate to complement your outdoor space. This listing includes the GFRC enclosure and the selected stainless steel burner and ignition system. Handcrafted concrete can show natural surface and color variations.

Choose how you light the fire

  • Match Throw (MT): manually light the burner with a long lighter and control gas at the key valve.
  • TPSI: a battery spark lights the pilot; the thermocouple safety system monitors the pilot flame.
  • AWS: electronic ignition and flame monitoring for convenient operation. Plan for a 120 V AC GFCI-protected power supply.

Choose the right fuel

Select the factory configuration that matches your natural-gas or propane supply. The enclosure does not house a propane cylinder. Gas supply, regulator, connectors and any external cylinder enclosure must be planned with a qualified installer and are not included.

Complete your fire feature

Use approximately 30 lb of the supplied lava rock; never overfill the burner or obstruct pilot and airflow openings. The optional COVER-SAN2 weather cover is sold separately. Photos may show optional accessories or alternative decorative media.

FAQ · What buyers ask

Frequently asked questions

Wood, gas, or propane — which fire pit is right for me?

Wood-burning fire pits give the most authentic crackle and smoke smell — but require seasoned firewood and produce ash. Natural gas fire pits run from a fixed gas line for unlimited burn time, instant on/off, no ash — require a gas plumber for install. Propane (LP) fire pits use a refillable tank, fully portable, also instant on/off — tank lasts roughly 8–14 hours on average use.

Where can I install a fire pit?

Most fire pits are designed for outdoor use only — on a non-combustible surface (stone patio, concrete, gravel, or fire-rated paver). Maintain at least 10 feet of clearance from buildings, fences, overhangs, and combustible vegetation. Check local fire ordinances; some HOAs and municipalities restrict open flame outdoors. Never use indoors — CO and combustion byproducts make this unsafe.

Can I use a fire pit on my wood deck?

Only with a fire-rated heat shield mat underneath and a unit specifically rated for deck use. Many wood-burning pits should not be used on wood decks at all due to ember escape risk. Gas and propane pits with sealed bottoms and proper heat shields are safer for decks — but always check the manufacturer's clearance requirements and your local code.

How long does a propane tank last?

A standard 20 lb propane tank typically powers a fire pit for 8–14 hours at full output, depending on the BTU rating of the burner. At lower flame settings, you can stretch this to 16+ hours. To extend tank life: lower the flame, use a wind guard to reduce gas waste, and turn off when not actively in use.

Free shipping and warranty?

Free freight shipping on all fire pits within the contiguous US. Most fire pits carry a 1–5 year manufacturer warranty (varies by model — full warranty terms on each product page). 30-day return window on unused units. White-glove delivery on heavier models.
