Fire Pit Tables — Functional Surface + Real Flame
Frequently Asked Questions
Are fire pit tables safe to use as tables?
The flame is contained in a center bowl or trough; the surrounding table surface stays around 100-130°F during operation — warm but not burn-hazard. Drinks placed on the table heat slightly. Don't place flammable items (paper, plastic) directly on the table during burn.
What's the typical size?
Most fire pit tables are 36-60 inches across, with the fire bowl 18-30 inches in the center. Surface space around the bowl runs 4-12 inches per side — enough for drinks, plates, or candles. Larger tables (72+) are available for entertaining.
Are they gas or propane?
Both. Gas-line versions install in a fixed location; propane versions store a tank inside the table base. Propane is the more popular choice because portability matters for outdoor entertaining and tank refills are widely available.
What materials are used?
Powder-coated aluminum frames (rust-proof), tempered glass tabletops, ceramic tile inlays, or natural stone slabs. The fire bowl liner is heat-resistant lava rock or fire glass. All weather-rated for outdoor exposure.
How much do fire pit tables cost?
$800-$3,500 typically. Lower price reflects basic aluminum frame with steel bowl; higher reflects natural stone surface, large size, and premium ignition. Most homeowners spend $1,200-$2,200 for a 48-inch propane version.
Do fire pit tables come with a cover?
Most ship with a fitted weatherproof cover for the burner. Full-table covers (protecting the surface from rain and UV) are typically separate accessories at $80-$180. Covers extend the surface lifespan significantly.
